About Goose Proof
As project manager with ProCare Horticultural Services, I have
personally worked with property managers battling aggressive geese and
the unpleasant messes they leave behind. Having bred and raised dogs for
over 15 years, I began investigating the use of Border Collies in goose
control. I contacted my friend, known internationally for his herding
Border Collies, who graciously sold me one of his special dogs that I
named Blue.
Blue and I have
worked everyday on continuing training and conditioning for goose
control. Utilizing his natural herding instincts, we have developed a
successful approach in the professional field of migratory bird control.
With the success of Blue, I found I needed more than one Border Collie.
We have now added two more Border Collies to our home and business. You
may ask why couldn't any dog "chase the geese away"? The secret is that
Border Collies work silently, approaching the flock with what is known
as the predator crouch and "the eye". This approach alerts the flock
that a predator is among them and they immediately flee the area. After
regular visits by Goose Proof and the Collies, the geese will not return
to the property because of this threat.
Got Geese?
Urban properties, homeowners, tenants and managers spend thousands of
dollars each year on goose relief. Tricks such as shiny Mylar balloons,
alligator heads, chemicals, and even firecrackers, but the birds
continue to congregate. These geese graze on new plantings and drop
about three pounds of feces per goose, every day.
Geese are very smart. They adapt to most threats employed by property
managers and homeowners. The destruction and odor they cause make even
the most avid animal lover want to move. Below are pictures of what

HOW DOES IT WORK?
I'll come to visit your property to assess the goose population. From
there we will design a program of K-9 visits to safely remove the geese
from your property. Because the geese have various feeding and nesting
patterns, we will work evenings and weekends as well and throughout the
week, to insure we are on sight when they are. We have programs priced
by the day, month, quarter and annually. Geese are bothersome and
destructive, 12 months a year and the best solution is to visit
regularly to let them know it is NOT SAFE to stay on your property.

Q. Are the Geese Harmed?
A. Never! The dogs never touch the geese, only harass them silently.
Q. How long will it take to control the geese on my site?
A. It depends highly on your site. We suggest 6 to 8 weeks to get the
geese to find another place
where they are not threatened.
Q. Where do the geese flock?
A. Somewhere where they are not bothered or threatened. They prefer the
lazy, easy feeding
life that well manicured ponds and landscaping offer.
Q. What is the cost?
A. Pricing varies with the size of your site, the number of ponds and
accessibility. We always provide free
evaluation of your site and even
demonstration with our collie. After an inspection,
we will submit a
proposal to you.
